Dear members of the African Diaspora,
community leaders, faith based organizations, NGOs, businesses, and all
community stakeholders, The Montgomery County African Affairs
Advisory Group is pleased to invite you to an important community
meeting on August 10th, 2017 at #1 Veterans Pl, (Civic Center) Silver Spring, Maryland. Time: 7pm - 8:30pm. We look
forward to, and welcome your input as we make plans for celebrating the Proclamation
of the African Heritage Month in Montgomery County, and in
welcoming the new Permanent Representative of the African Union Mission to
the United States of America, H.E Ambassador, Arikana Chihombori –
Quao. Her Excellence Amb. Chihombori is a former member of the
African Diaspora, a great transformational leader whose vision is to maximize
African Diaspora participation while ensuring that our talents are recognized
and fully utilized by Africa.
The Proclamation event is scheduled
for September 1st, 2017. Preceding the coming of the AU Ambassador
in the morning of September 1st, the Montgomery County African Affairs
Advisory Group will also be hosting the African Diaspora
Entrepreneurship Summit to showcase African Diaspora businesses,
promote and empower local and international investment.
We would love the community to
participate fully in these exciting events!
