FUNDRAISING FOR THE FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTS OF OUR COMMUNITY MEMBER MS. NIKU MWASONGWE.

Mecktilda Majenga, President of Tanzanian Community Association – Midwest USA, NFP, (TCA), of Chicago, Illinois, USA is saddened to announce the death of Ms. Niku Mwasongwe that occurred in Chicago, Illinois, USA, on June 18, 2018. The TCA is requesting the support of all Tanzanians in the USA as we prepare for her home going celebrations here in Chicago. The time and place shall be announced as arrangements are finalized.

The burial will be in Tanzania. Arrangements for transporting the body to Tanzania are underway.

Ms. Niku Mwasongwe was born on April 13, 1943, in Kyela, Tanzania. She attended Muhimbili School of Nursing where she attained a diploma in Nursing and Midwifery. After graduation she worked at Muhimbili Hospital, and other government hospitals at Mpwapwa, and Tukuyu. After that, she joined the Kilimanjaro Christian Medical University (KCMC) for advanced studies. Post studies at KCMC she proceeded to work at Njombe, Tukuyu, and became the Principal of (MCHA). She retired in 1995.

Since May of 2018 her health started to deteriorate. She passed away on June 18, 2018 at John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County, Chicago.

She is survived by her son Humphrey Mwakalinga, five grandchildren, brothers, sisters, cousins, nephews and nieces.
