London Fashion Week Designers to color Mamma MIA
On Friday 4th and Saturday 5th March this year, Pan African fashion designer Mustafa Hassanali, will launch his new collection “Afroglam” at the event Mamma Mia in aid of White Ribbon Alliance in association with Vodacom foundation. This charity cum fundraising fashion show will be held at Moevenpick Royal Palm Hotel and Mnazi Mmoja grounds respectively. The show has been aptly name Mamma MIA as we Celebrate 100 years of International Women’s day and fifty years of Tanzania Independence with the purpose of advocating safe motherhood together with unveiling Mustafa Hassanali new collection ‘afroglam’ for the year 2011/2012.
Commenting on the ongoing preparation, the organizer of Mamma Mia Mustafa Hassanali stated, “We are in our last minute preparations, our guest designers have already arrived in the country and we are all ready to present our creations to the Tanzanian Fashionistas and public at large”.
The guest designers showcasing at Mamma Mia apart from Mustafa Hassanali. Are Farouque Abdella from Zanzibar, Finnish designer Minna Hepburn and Scottish designers Henrietta Ludgate from United Kingdom who both have just recently unveiled their collection at the just Concluded London fashion week.

“The Fashion show is scheduled to start at 8:30pm on 4th March to be Held at Moevenpick, while on 5th March the Mnazi Mmoja event will start at 3:30pm” added Hassanali
As part of Community Involvement, The Entrance to the Mnazi Mmoja event has been Pegged at One Hundred Shillings Only so as to Make Fashion more accessible to the public but also involve the society in their Contribution towards the white Ribbon alliance Campaign for Safe Motherhood
Making a Public call to participate in this free exciting event at Mnazi Mmoja grounds in Dar es salaam, Mustafa exclaimed, “ this is the first time for Tanzania to have a free fashion event, for the mass especially women to get an opportunity to be part of this huge exciting event, on the 5th March, whereby the show will also be streamed live Online courtesy of Uhuruone to engage all Tanzanian living abroad to participate in this campaign by watching it live through www.mustafahassanali.net. This will be the first Fashion show in history of Africa to be shown live online via internet. Thus, I would like to take this opportunity to request the public to be part of this remarkable event’
Vodacom Foundation has lead the way towards this initiative to campaign for Safe motherhood by associating itself to the cause of White Ribbon Alliance which is being advocated by Mustafa Hassanali,

Mustafa Hassanali is a fashion designer who has worked closely with White Ribbon Alliance, he has previously worked with the global white Ribbon alliance together with Naomi Campbell’s Fashion for Relief where He helped raised more than 65,000 US Dollars for the Tanzanian Chapter of White Ribbon Alliance in 2009.

ABOUT FAROUQUE ABDELLA
Born in Zanzibar, Farouque continued the family tradition as fourth generation tailor, going on to train at the London College of Fashion. Working with natural fibers and traditional African textiles, Farouque creates couture and avant garde fashions. His exquisite fashion sensibility has been seen in films and theaters as well as on international catwalks. Masai and Egyptian traditions strongly influence Farouque's work.
Encouraged by the late Princess Diana to maintain the African influence in his work, Farouque hopes to help African fashion gain recognition as a vital influence in global style. To this end, Farouque has held individual fashion shows in varied locales including: the 1999 Zanzibar International Film Festival and the Save the Children Benefit in London.

Scottish luxury womenswear label, Henrietta Ludgate, has already garnered an impressive number of awards and built a formidable reputation amongst high end retailers.
