Post Election Chaos! How did all this happen?

Mizozo iliyokua ikiendelea kutokana na baadhi ya wapiga kura kuja na Pasi za kusafiria au green Card bila kuwa na anuani inayoonyesha anapoishi.

I would like to educate and enlighten some of our people especially the ones living outside the DMV area and around the world on what is really going on. There is a history behind all of this madness we are seeing. Why are some people so passionate about this election?? Are people getting paid to run for these positions?? Do people not have enough to do with their time?? These and other questions are being asked by outside people who really don't know what is going on. Perhaps after reading this article people will have more of an understanding of this situation we are in and we will see less ignorant comments and remarks. As a DMV resident for over 20 years I have seen these elections come and go, from Hamza Mamuyo to Iddy Sandaly and the ones in between- Marehemu Mzee Kombe, Santa Chacha, Seche Malecela. You name them, I have seen it all. These former leaders have tried to change the coummunity but because of so much corruption in the association we have not seen signaificant changes.

 Because of this some of us, young and old have not really been involved with activities in the community or have been discouraged to participant in elections to improve the status quo e.g poor healthcare, employment etc. Now here comes Mr Libe, a well educated, charismatic young man whose heart appears to be in the right place and who wants to transform and improve the community by running for president of the TZ association in DMV. Unfortunately there are a few people who themselves believe have the majority power and are doing everything to undermine his efforts to the point of engaging in unethical and illegal activities to get what they want. It makes you wonder what they are getting out of it. I think the majority of TZ in DMV are sick and tired of the same old stuff, they are sick and tired of having minimum wage jobs, no health insurance etc. Why not give Libe a chance to try and improve some of these problems. 

 Anyway at this point I think it's not about the elections anymore. Libe is just trying to make a point that this election was unfair and corrupt and therefore should be voided. The election took place last Saturday August 9th 2014 and afterwards everyone could see corruption was evident and some of the votes had been contaminated. From whose side it is still unknown!! What is known is that it would be unfair and unjust to declare a winner under these circumstances and there is enough evidence and justification to proceed with legal action to void the whole thing. 

I am just happy that at last someone is standing up against corruption. This is the beauty of living in the United States where people have rights and anyone who feels that their rights have been violated are free to use the court system to make their point known. The courts will be the ones to decide who is right and wrong in this case because I do not see H.E Mrs Liberata Mulamula doing anything constructive to calm people down. People have to realise corruption has no place here and if it is discovered justice will surely prevail. Those unethical, corrupt behaviors some of us are used to in TZ should have stayed there when we came to America. 

Now my advice to Libe is to stay strong because you are gaining more and more support each day. Just ignore the people who are trying to put you down and making personal attacks against you. Just remember you have more support now than ever before because the law is on your side.
