Skimpy dresses banned from Prince Wasajja wedding

A stern warning has been issued to invited guests for Prince David Wasajja’s wedding to dress appropriately. This is according to Buganda Kingdom information minister Peter Mayiga.
Over 1,000 guests are expected to attend the royal wedding of Prince Wasajja, Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi’s young brother and Marion Elizabeth Nankya. Nankya, 27, is a daughter of MP Mathias Nsubuga, DP secretary general.

The Prince, 47, is to exchange marriage vows with Nankya at Lubaga Cathedral this weekend at 11:00am. The Kabaka is expected to grace the function.All invited guests are expected to be seated in church at 8:00 to 8:30am to allow security check.

The couple will be wedded by the Archbishop of Kampala Dr. Cyprian Lwanga with the help of other bishops and priests. Mayiga said that everyone is invited at the church but sitting arrangement will follow protocol.

“Invitations are limited because it is not an ordinary wedding, all guests must carry their invitation cards, failure to do so, you will not access the palace,” Mayiga said.
Mayiga revealed that all invitation cards have been channeled through the office of the Katikiro.

• At 4:00pm, there will be a cocktail at Lubiri when the couple comes from church.

• From 6 to 6:30pm, decently dressed guests are expected to be seated after which there will be speeches and entertainment.

• This will be followed by a Royal dinner for the guests from 8:00pm-9:00pm.

• It will also be followed by cutting of the cake from 9:00pm-10pm accompanied by more entertainment.

• It will be crowned by a royal ball from 10pm-2:00am where people will mingle.
