Did you know?
A certificate, license, or credential in a field like healthcare, information technology, or building trades can help you find a job more quickly. With the Maryland Governor’s Emergency Education Relief Fund, you may qualify for help to get that credential, so that you can find a new job more easily or stabilize your current employment.
The Governor’s Emergency Education Relief (GEER) Program can help pay for
• Tuition and fees up to $3500 for approved short-term job training courses at 
Montgomery College that will lead you to a certificate, license, or credential in a
wide range of job fields
• Technology to help you through online instruction, up to $1000 for approved
courses that last 18 or more hours.
• Other expenses like books, certification, licensing, or testing fees up to $500 to
help you get across the finish line
To qualify, you must 
• Be a Maryland resident
• Be legally eligible to work in the U.S.
• Have your employment status affected by COVID – this includes a job loss,
reduction in hours, unstable employment, or challenges finding new
employment
• Meet income eligibility guidelines
• Not owe any more than $5000 to Montgomery College
