We have decided to disclose to the public the profit and loss statement of African Lyon Football Club for the season 2013/14 so

stakeholders of football in this country can see for themselves the challenges most football clubs with the exception of the big clubs

face when it comes to running a success football club.

We accept our fate of being relegated and we do not attribute that to the dire financial positions we faced this season as we were

not alone.

The NET LOSS of TZS 180,399,023 is despite our most successful revenue generation year of TZS 207,615,478.

The cost of preparing for the season (Signing Fee and Pre-Season Cost) was 27,206,000 which was more than what we received from

Vodacom for the first part of the season (15,750,000)

The sponsorship package offered by Zantel though very helpful was significantly reduced after the debacle with regards to

Vodacom's exclusivity clause. We are still very grateful to Zantel for their efforts and willingness to support us especially on the youth

development side

Almost One third (1/3) of Vodacom's sponsorship funds (17,250,000) came when the season had only 1 game remaining. Too late to

do anything with it.

Half of our games (12) for the entire season did not generate any revenue for us through gate receipts.

Equipment received by Seattle Sounders contributed significantly in lowering the cost of cleats/training shoes/balls and overall

training equipment.

African Lyon has accomplished the following that we believe should show be taken note of in the last X years.

1. Took more than 5 players for trials outside the country

2. Hosted two seminars on sports management

3. Organized a full scholarship for our U-20 player in a prestigious U.S College

4. Managed to oversee Mrisho Ngassa's participation against Manchester United

5. Hosted a top Brazilian premier league here in Tanzania (Athletico Parenese)

Our major accomplishment is to spearhead the push for the premiere league to be run and managed independent of TFF. The fight

to ensure this happens it to avoid the type of balance sheet like ours which we believe is common to the other 95% of EPL clubs.

These financials hinder the development of this game here Tanzania and unless major changes take place, it will be very difficult for

use to compete with the outside world with regards to getting our players opportunities to play outside.

We have forfeited two opportunities since Mrisho Ngassa's trials to take players for trials because of the simple fact that the players we

have are simply not good enough and management fails to focus on our number one priority of grooming players because we are

busy trying to find fund for basic first team needs.

As an entity our goal is and always has been to build a club that will be attractive to the very young talents so that we can groom

and provide opportunities for them to play in better leagues.

Lastly, we would like to apologize to any individual/entity that we may have offended during the period by which we were fighting to

improve the status of this league. We are also very thankful to the fans/soccer pundits who have given us their full support especially

the very loyal football fans. We promise them we will come back much stronger.
