Apollo Nida Sentenced To 8 Years In Prison For Fraud
An Atlanta judge hands down sentence to the 'Real Housewives of Atlanta' husband

Apollo Nida, wife Phaedra Parks and their families have dreaded this day for quite some time as the reality star's fate rests in the judge’s hands.
On Tuesday, Nida, 35, faced sentencing in a Georgia court for charges of conspiracy to commit bank fraud and wire transfer. He was sentenced to eight years in prison with voluntary surrender at a later date, according to HLN.

Nida's mother Katrina Toohey and brother Michael Derrick were present for the sentencing, but Parks was nowhere in sight. He once again apologized to the victims in his scheme, as well as his family.

"The government did what they had to do," Nida said before getting on an elevator in the federal courthouse. When asked if he was unhappy about the sentence, he said, "Whatever the judge gave."

Nida's attorney, Thomas Bever, said the star could possibly get out more than a year early for good behavior and be sent to a halfway house.

The husband of the “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star plead guilty to the charges in May. He admitted the pressures of keeping up an extravagant lifestyle to portray on “RHOA” led to him committing fraud.

APOLLO NIDA BEGS FOR LENIENCY AS HE FACES SENTENCING FOR FRAUD

Nida pulled out all the stops to lower the 30-year maximum sentence he was facing. Just days ago, Nida begged for leniency and made a plea to change his status from Criminal History Category V to Criminal History Category IV in hopes to reduce his sentence.

In 2009, Nida was released from prison after serving five years for federal racketeering charges related to auto title theft. The reality star was on probation when he was indicted on embezzlement, aggravated identity theft, bank fraud and conspiracy back in January.

Nida’s co-conspirator, Gayla St. Julien, was sentenced to five years after pleading guilty to conspiracy to commit mail, wire and bank fraud and aggravated identity theft. St. Julien claims she was Nida’s “right hand bitch” from 2009-2013.

APOLLO NIDA'S CO-CONSPIRATOR IMPLICATES PHAEDRA PARKS, ALLUDES TO NIDA'S INFIDELITY

His wife Parks-- who is not only a reality star, but also an attorney-- has maintained her innocence despite both St. Julien and former friend Angela Stanton claiming she was involved. Stanton was reportedly present at Tuesday's sentencing to "see justice served," she told a reporter.

Parks has yet to release an official statement on the court's decision. The couple have two children together.
