Dear Parents and Stakeholders,
Salamun alaykum
The Al Muntazir week has once again dawned upon us, this time bearing the brand “We are the Tomorrow…Wecreate M.A.G.I.C” with the acronym representing Motivation, Accomplishments, Goals, Integrity and Courage. The dawning of Al Muntazir week signifies the birth of our present 12th Holy Imam after whom, our dear institution has been named and on this jubilant occasion, may I on behalf of the Central Board of Education send joyous greetings your way.
The Central Board of Education (CBE) under the auspices of Khoja Shia Ithna - Asheri Jamaat (KSIJ) Dar es Salaam governs the Al Muntazir Schools, which comprises the Al Muntazir Special Education Needs, Al Muntazir Toddlers and Day Care Centre, Al Muntazir Nursery School, Al Muntazir Girls and Boys Primary Schools, Al Muntazir Islamic Seminary, and our Higher Education College - the A3 Institute of Professional Studies.
2014 has been quite an insightful year for CBE thus far, commencing with the launch and successful implementation of the International Curriculum for the lower primary levels at both primary schools. Prior to implementation, teachers from both primary schools underwent rigorous training at the A3 Institute of Professional Studies in order to equip and prepare them to captain the International Curriculum ship and steer it ever so smoothly.
Following last year’s achievement of the elite and internationally acclaimed ISO 9001:2008, the institutions underwent an audit and successfully managed to retain the accreditation while continuing to strive towards Total Quality Management (TQM) in order to remain in line with CBE’s mission statement, which is that of providing Best, Broad – Based, Cost – Effective and Internationally Recognized education to our students.
Construction of a new wing at The Al Muntazir Union Nursery commenced late 2013 and is slated for completion early 2015. The new wing will be the first child – safe school block of its kind and has been earmarked for the Montessori curriculum. After completion, the capacity at the school will have increased by at least 35% to meet the increasing demand currently at hand. The completion of the new wing will also see with it a brand new swimming pool being purpose – built for the school.
Being the youngest member of the family, Al Muntazir Special Education Needs that was established and inaugurated in 2013 continues to grow in terms of number and improve in terms of quality, with the ultimate aim of being the best special needs facility in the country now being in clear sight.
It is also fulfilling to note that the ALMIS afternoon school, which was established four years ago, will produce its first ever graduating class at the end of this year. Since ALMIS and all our other schools have a fixed intake capacity, the ALMIS afternoon school focuses on the core curriculum and was instituted with the aim of enabling a maximum number of students obtain basic O – Level education.
At this juncture, I wish to extend our appreciation for your continued patronage towards the Al Muntazir Schools and A3 Institute of Professional Studies.
It is because of the encouragement generated by your support that we see the Al Muntazir Schools progressing ever so rapidly in line with our slogan – Committed to Excellence, thereby greatly contributing towards raising education standards within our country.
We at Central Board of Education profoundly acknowledge and appreciate your continued benefaction towards our institutions.
We remain obliged.
Sincerely Yours,
Imran A. Dhalla,
Hon. Secretary,
KSIJ Central Board of Education
