Message sent,we Tanzanians have been sweating and suffering a lot for many years trying looking for a good leader. A leader who would understand that the poor condition of living for the people and the country is not a God choice but it is the results of an evil actings from the corrupted Government officials. Magufuli tend to understand that one and hes in his way ending that business as usual for the Government for officials not held accountable when ever they do wrong,it is not an easy task but so far so good. Mr president is the kind leader we Tanzanians been asking God to bring upon us and God almighty no doubt has been listening and answering our prayers. And as our expectations the president is delivering more than what we expected him to do. Just one month of his presidency have been doing somethings that have not been done for five years or maybe ten years, that is why when some one come and trying to demonize the president from the goodness what is bringing to the country we will never stay silence we will defend him forceful. Remember the president has been in power for only three months has not yet even completed some of his government officials selection now what bringing people talking nonsense. If something will appear to go wrong in maghufuli leadership we will not stay silence either we will tell him. But it was hard to believe some comments if they were real come from some one like Mr Membe, cause he was a foreign affairs minister and his ministry was one of the very corrupted government organization to mention now where he get the bolls pointing out some one else that is doing wrong? I personal still don't believe that what ever we have been reading and hearing from the media were real come from Membe mouth cause doesn't real make any sense. And im glad to hear him denounce himself from what people say that it was something came from his own mouth,I guess he could be smarter than that.
I differ with Anony. @ 9:25PM characterization of Mr. Membe's comments. He is one of the political giants of the south. To give you a clue, CCM can't win presidential elections without the south..(CCM stronghold). With the abundance of gas, iron ore, uranium, and ample food crops (to feed the whole nation), southern politicians voices bears weight and is a force to reckon with. Membe's viewpoints resonates very well with southerners and many CCM cadres alike.
It's funny how you moved to differ with him only to put forward substantially empty and misguided lines of arguments! How does a southerner's vote weigh more than that of a westerner, easterner or northerner? Your conclusion seems to suggest that the south accounts for more than 50% of Tanzanian registered voters, implying that winning the south by itself means winning the presidential election. I crave to see your source of this unpublished statistic. Honestly, I didn't know that gas, iron ore, etc. translate to greater vote weight!
You also make an unsubstantiated sweeping statement that "Membe's viewpoints resonates very well with southerners and many CCM cadres alike". I am a southerner and a CCM cadre, but I do not agree with BKM. Does this suggest that when you agree with BKM, the "southerners and many CCM cadres alike" similarly agree?
Anony. of January 26, 2016 @ 5:19 AM completely misses the point. Nobody doubts the role southern regions, just like any other region in the country, play in the electoral process and the development of our country in general. As we all know, Tanzania is one united country and we are very proud of our unity hence we do not discriminate one another basing on the geographical location where one comes from. In this regard, our leaders, irrespective of their political affiliations, will always continue to gunner votes from any corner of the country where they ask people to vote for them.
That said, and back to the topic under discussion, I wish to inform anony. @ 5.19 that, earlier contributors above were commenting on Mr. Member's intervention regarding the way our current President is running the government. The claims Mr. Membe has made on the President completely shows that he is either ignorant or completely insensitive to the hardship and so many other problems our downtrodden fellow Tanzanians have for a long time gone through as a result of the dismal work or rather failure by past governments to resolve those issues.
Theft of government trophies, Corruption, dismal collection of revenue and partial or non-payment of taxes by the business community are some of the problems that have caused stress and misery to many. The persistence and toxicity of these problems compromised the government's capacity to deliver the required services to its people. Now when you have a person like Membe castigating the way the President is trying to tackle these problems on behalf of the people, one is left to wonder what his (Membe) agenda is!
I am more than 100 % sure that even the people in the Southern regions where anony. @5:19 AM tells us that Membe is one of the political giants of the south, do appreciate the good job the President is doing on their behalf and on behalf of their fellow citizens in the other parts of the country. I am sure also that if elections were to be held again todate and Dr. Magufuli asks those people in the area to vote for him, he will get more votes than Membe if he is to stand against him.
To conclude, I urge Mr. Membe to support the President in his endeavors so that he can build a better Tanzania for us all Tanzanians. The time to embrace corrupt elements in our society should be something of the past. Businessmen and women who do not want to pay their fair share of taxes should have their licenses revoked and those in arrears be sent to court and have their assets confiscated and sold to pay their dues and if anything remains outstanding they should be made to pay after their time in jail. Likewise, government bureaucracy and red tape be addressed and any one found not to adhere to work ethics be taken to task.

Kama ulikuwa unapima kina cha maji basi jibu umeshalipata. Don't allow your egos and selfishness to ruin whatever little political capital you have!

All being said, JPM has shown courage. Let's continue to give him a helping hand, while he navigates the stormy ocean (corrupt society?) ahead.
