Announcing New Monthly Journal

Hello there,
On Feb 13th we have announced the launch of a new community journal, called Tanzanian Mirror.  The journal will make its debut with an April edition and will publish every month thereafter.  This is a realization of a dream for me and other members of our team; we wanted to create a publication that would speak about the beauty of Tanzania and Africa in general that many of the western main stream media do not like to talk about. We wanted to create a publication that will connect and celebrate Tanzania and Tanzanians in the USA.

USA subscribers will receive the print publication for free and international subscribers will receive the digital version for free too. The journal will also be available on demand at MagCloud.com though our journal will depend extensively upon loyal readership to be effective at advertising. The on-demand journal will allow us to repackage stories and offer it for our international readers who want to have the print journal instead of the just digital version or for anyone who wants the back issues.

We have identified a void in East African communities’ media market in the USA. We know through our market research that there is a real need for a publication like this. The initial press run will be 20,000 copies monthly, of which 18,500 copies will be direct-mailed to households with an average household income of $70,000 or more in the USA. The remaining 1,500 copies will be targeted through higher institutions and venue distribution (churches, high end retail stores, high end restaurants, businesses, etc.).

Our publisher is Kwanza Press; the fast-growing independent integrated registered limited liability Media Company that aims to publish multicultural literature and literacy eBooks and paperback books, journals and magazines.

We are still accepting open submissions for our first issue.  We love to see creative, insightful, humorous, information, commentary, and reporting on positive issues. We accept original work and we do insist that you never publish anything which you don't have written permission to publish. If your submission is accepted, we will publish it in our digital journal and it may appear in our print edition. We allow you to retain reprint rights, but we retain the right to publish your articles in collections in books or other websites.

If you consistently submit articles of high quality and consistency attract many readers we may elevate you from a member contributor to a trusted author contributor.  A trusted author signs a freelance contract with us. We wish we could pay everyone that we use his/her article, but we aren't able to at this point but…you’ll be gaining good publicity and some good karma.

Please like us Facebook and follow us on Twitter
