TWAWEZA FINDINGS ON ACCESS TO WATER

Dear Risha,
Thank you very much for sharing the survey results which are quite worrying.
Although our situation with water  in Pangani is not much better, we feel that there is a very important role that community radios can play. Our experience is that whenever national attention is drawn things start happening, and often they happen fast.
We have quite a few  success stories from Pangani about swift action taken by the authorities after our  radio Pangani FM  broadcasted  the matter. In Mtonga village authorities visited immediately after they heard about the problem in the  radio kipindi and this  resulted in the construction of a new school building which has meanwhile been completed  (see link 1 below) .  Other examples related to water supply in Mwera (link 2 and 3) and Mahazara village.

Community radios can help to make change happen!
Best wishes
Vera
