WETATi 2015 International Women's Convention to Focus on How to Make Business, Corporate Leadership, Trainings, Skills, Opportunities, and Branding more feasible for Women
March 26-29, 2015
COLLEGE PARK,MD - This spring, women and men around the globe will gather on the campus of the University of Maryland College Park for a one-of-a-kind convention designed to train, equip and empower women to successfully lead, pursue entrepreneurship, build wealth, and increase their access to executive leadership positions.
Women Empowered to Achieve the impossible (WETATi) will host its Annual International Women's Convention and Red Carpet Scholarship and Awards Banquet, March 26-29, 2015 at the University of Maryland Stamp Student Union Colony Ballroom and Nyumburu Cultural Center in College Park, MD in partnership with University of Maryland WETATi Next Generation (WETATi-UMCP).
This year's convention theme, "Entrepreneurship & Women: Leading with Confidence and Integrity", celebrates the accomplishments of women in leadership across a number of sectors including business, politics, education, health care, religion and public service. The convention will also feature an impressive roster of distinguished national and international
presenters/speakers, and attendees, General sessions, Town hall forums and panel discussions, networking events; free health screenings, sessions geared toward young women entrepreneurs and international business, and a scholarship and awards banquet honoring women who have achieved the impossible, trailblazing and emerging women leaders and much more.
WETATi Founder and President Dr. Margaret Dureke, said expectations are high for this year's convention and that attendees will not be disappointed. The convention will also include a special opening session presented by successful millionaire entrepreneur, author, and Television Personality Dr. Jewel Tankard, star of the hit BRAVO TV Reality series "Thicker Than Water" on Thursday, March 26 at the Nyumburu Cultural Center.
"We are very excited about the convention because we are bringing together dynamic and diverse individuals from around the world who will share their personal, business and professional experiences and exchange ideas with individuals who are interested in advancing their careers, developing their leadership potential, launching their own businesses or who want to gain the knowledge and skills to make a real difference in their communities," said Dr. Dureke.
The convention will also address many of the leadership challenges women face. Though more and more women set out to become successful business owners or break the glass ceiling in major corporations or organizations, entrepreneurship and corporate leadership still remains male-dominated, according to research by the Business News Daily. Dureke said women often lack access, the support and professional development that they need to launch a new business or gain access to mentoring or networking opportunities that could be beneficial to their business/career growth.
"One of the major reasons why WETATi holds these conventions is to connect women to successful women leaders and address challenges like work-life balance, fear of failure, improving negotiation skills, and creating a support network that can push them to the next level. For me, this convention is all about connecting women and creating and developing women to build, protect and expand the next generation of women leaders and entrepreneurs' mindsets and opportunities."
