We work together, meet together and we party together. How about we do something important together, like help end breast cancer? This year will mark our mom/sister/aunt Rehema Barksdale’s 10th year as a breast cancer survivor. She is an inspiration to her family and friends. So in honor of her inspiration to others, The Tanzanian Embassy and her family are putting together Team Tanzania to participate in the Susan G. Komen Global Race for the Cure® and we’re hoping you'll join us.
The goal of our team is to create awareness of breast cancer amongst the Tanzanian community in DC metropolitan area; support the women who are survivors of breast cancer; and raise funds for breast cancer research, education and breast health services.
On June 4, tens of thousands of people will gather on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. to make a big impact on the global movement to end breast cancer forever.
Without the cures, an estimated 25 million people around the world will be diagnosed with breast cancer – and 10 million could die – over the next 25 years. This is our opportunity to do something about it. Together, we can.
Let's get started today. To join the team, go to http://globalrace.info-kom en.org/goto/teamtanzania or NationalRacefortheCure.org . If you are unable to walk or run with us at the Mall on Race Day, show your support by making a tax-deductible donation to Team Tanzania.
If you have any questions or concerns feel free to contact Nelleta Kassembe at nelleta.kassembe@gmail.com phone number 240-393-6954 or Joyce Kassembe at jkapea@gmail.com phone number 240-646-2405.
No matter how you get involved, the important thing is that you are joining us in the global
