I have written before about Manchester United. I think today's game proved that Alex Ferguson wins most of his games because of the Queen. After she dubbed him Sir Ferguson. Everyone in England loves the Queen and because she is the Queen they want to please her. So, all the referees are nice to Alex Ferguson's team so that someday she will call them "Sir". This is a sad thing to see for most African fans who support Manchester United or any team in the British league. As a person from a country that used to be a colony of Britain, I am very sad to see that British royalty is still controlling the mentality of African soccer fans. Because we follow the British model of soccer, we have not had success internationally. You will not see any English speaking countries, those formerly colonized by England winning the World Cup until we break free of British influence. Even England has not won the world cup since 1966 and these days cannot compete against the other styles of play. I want to advise young people to stop watching British soccer so much and to start watching soccer played in coutries who have success now. This is how African soccer will advance.
