WHEN? Wednesday 26 June 2013 starting at 12.00 p.m.
WHERE? The World Bank offices at 50 Mirambo Street, Dar es Salaam
WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT? The CPIA is an annual evaluation of countries’ performance along 16 dimensions of policy and institutional quality carried out by the World Bank. The CPIA ratings are used in allocating international Development Association (IDA) resources to IDA-eligible countries, including Tanzania. The assessment reviews economic management, structural policies, policies for social inclusion and equity, and public sector management and institutions. Ratings reflect a variety of indicators, observations, and World Bank staff viewpoints. The scores depend on the level of performance in a given year assessed against the criteria in comparison with performance by other countries, and not solely on changes in performance compared to the previous year.
