Pamoja na kuonywa na madaktari kuwa urefu wa nywele zake unaweza kumsababishia tatizo la kupooza, Asha Mandela amesema hawezi kuzikata.
Mama huyo mwenye mtoto mmoja aishiye Atlanta, Georgia amesema: Nywele zangu zimekuwa sehemu yangu. Ni maisha yangu. Sitozikata kamwe. Kuzikata itakuwa ni kama kujiua. Itakuwa ni sawa na zombie.’
Mrs Mandela, 47, anashikilia Guinness World Record kwa kuwa na rasta ndefu zaidi duniani zenye urefu wa futi 55.
Humchukua siku mbili kuziosha na kuzikausha nywele zake. Mrs Mandela, ana mtoto mwenye miaka 11 aitwaye Zion aliyezaa na mume wake wa pili, anasema nywele zake zimesaidia uhusiano wake na mumewe.
Kwa sasa ameolewa na mume wa tatu na asili yake ni Trinidad and Tobago. Alianza kuzitunza nywele hizo miaka 25 iliyopita
