Kali TV News and Updates

Dear friends of Kali TV,

We have some exciting changes and updates to share with you. As you’ll soon find out, the crew of Kali TV has been very busy these last few months!
By far the most exciting update is that we were finally able to travel to Africa – Kenya and Tanzania – where we shot some amazing footage for a number of upcoming programs. This footage includes interviews with a range of people – from artists to activists to small miners – as well as the stories of their lives, challenges, and achievements.

Speaking of which, we are proud to announce that the first show from the African continent was launched this week: an interview with the talented Kenyan artist Nazizi, of the famed Kenyan hip-hop group Necessary Noize http://vimeo.com/kalitv/review/75864449/c11553479e One of Kenya’s most decorated artists, she has won numerous music awards, from the Kora Award (all Africa) to Kenya’s Chaguo la Teeniez Award. She still remains one of the most popular and influential artists in East Africa.

This week’s show gives you just a taste of what’s to come: it is the first of many shows covering fascinating stories and interviews from different parts of the world.Stay tuned!

In other news, Kali TV’s website is currently under construction, as you may have noticed if you tried to access it recently. The newly redesigned website, which will be launched in the near future, will look more professional, user-friendly and interactive. It will also have new content, including a news section and a blog. This is part of Kali TV’s effort to become a multimedia news outlet, offering a range of relevant content beyond the weekly video programs. We’ll keep you posted when the new website is up.

Lastly, Kali TV made a recent switch from YouTube to Vimeo for posting its shows, due to the higher quality of video presentation provided by Vimeo’s service. Yesterday’s show was the first to be posted on Vimeo, and Kali TV plans to transfer all of its existing programs from YouTube to its new Vimeo channelwww.vimeopro.com/kalitv/online Be sure to check out our new channel on Vimeo and set up a Vimeo account to follow Kali TV.

While we have your attention, we would like to ask that you kindly consider making a donation to Kali TV – of any amount that you can afford. As you may know, Kali TV is a non-profit service: all of our shows are produced by a staff of dedicated volunteers, who have given not only their time and effort, but also their personal financial resources, to build Kali TV.

We guarantee that your donation will be put to good use, whether it’s for needed equipment, software, training, or travel expenses for our crew to produce new shows. Every dollar truly does make a difference!

(Since our website is currently under construction, our donation page is not available. If you’re interested in making a donation, please contact us by email.)
We thank you for your dedication to Kali TV! We are driven by the desire to provide quality programming for you, our viewers.
