The 2nd Annual Miss Tanzania USA Pageant will be held on August 30th in

Silver Spring, MD, at the Silver Spring Civic Building

(Silver Spring, MD) – On August 30th, the 2nd Annual Miss Tanzania USA Pageant will bring Tanzania’s rich and vivid culture to the Washington, DC, metropolitan area! Beautiful, educated and well-rounded young women who are of Tanzanian descent will compete to hold the prestigious title of “Miss Tanzania USA.” The pageant will take place in Silver Spring, MD, at the Silver Spring Civic Building at 6:30 p.m.

The evening of the pageant will be a memorable night of entertainment and fun, including musical performances by popular African and American artists (names to be announced at a later date). Hundreds of people from across the United States and around the world are expected to attend this prestigious event.

“One of the main goals of the Miss Tanzania USA Pageant is to empower young women in Tanzania and in the continental U.S. through education and community-oriented projects,” said Winny Casey, the president of the Miss Tanzania USA Organization, which is producing the Miss Tanzania USA Pageant.

“We intend to show young women how to set goals and focus on them and to develop actions that lead to the achievement of their goals,” Casey continued.

This year we are excited to announce that WPGC 95.5 FM News Director Guy Lambert will host the pageant. Lambert recently hosted the red carpet pre-show for the BET Music Awards in Los Angeles.

"I'm truly honored to serve as Master of Ceremonies during the upcoming 2nd Annual Miss Tanzania USA Pageant. I'm looking forward to seeing the unique talents each contestant will bring to the table. Ultimately, the judges will be tasked with choosing a winner. Thank God it's their responsibility and not mine, otherwise every contestant would win first place," Lambert said.

This extravagant evening will include:

• Miss Tanzania USA Pageant - Must be 18 to 27 years old
• Miss Tanzania Teen USA Pageant - Must be 12 to 17 years old
• Miss Tanzania Queens of Tomorrow - Must be 6 to 11 years old

Each contestant must be Tanzanian or have at least one Tanzanian parent and must reside in the USA.

The Miss Tanzania USA Organization was founded under the leadership of Casey in 2013. The pageant was created to find strategic partnerships that would pave the way for the next generation of leaders within Tanzania and beyond.

Tanzania, officially the United Republic of Tanzania, is a country that sits right under the equator in East Africa. It is known for its breathtaking scenery and geography, including Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa and the highest free-standing mountain in the world.

Miss Tanzania USA will represent the United Republic of Tanzania during the annual Miss Africa USA pageant as well as at other international pageants, such as the Miss Grand International Tanzania Pageant, The Miss United Nations Pageant (in Jamaica) and the Miss Progress International Pageant (in Puglia, Italy).

The 2nd Annual Miss Tanzania USA Pageant is an excellent opportunity for businesses to target a diverse domestic and international consumer market. This event will help them gain tremendous exposure for their products and/or services. This year a few of our featured vendors are Traci Lynn Jewelry, It Works Global, Divas and Doll Fitness, and T444Z Hair Food USA. Vending spaces are still available.
