This is a friendly reminder to advise you that the Diaspora Council of Tanzanians in America (DICOTA) is still accepting nominations for the Officer positions on its Executive Committee through September 4 th, 2014. This year, nominations are being accepted electronically using a custom weblink https://www.balloteer.com/bp/nph-bstart?&eid=5487937115576325. DICOTA Executive Committee Officer Responsibilities are as per the organizations bylaws, please refer to the following link for more information http://dicotaus.org/bylaws.
Following are the list of available positions:
- President
- Secretary
- Deputy Secretary
- Treasurer
- Assistant Treasurer
The Officers shall be elected for a term of two (2) years. Officers shall be allowed to stand for election for a maximum of two (2) consecutive two-year terms and may be re-elected after being away for one (1) term.
Listed below are the eligibility requirements for the nominees: 1. The nominating window opened on August 21st and extends through September 4th. Nominations will NOT be accepted after September 4th.2. Candidates may nominate themselves or can consent to be nominated by other members of DICOTA. If a candidate is being nominated by another member of DICOTA, please email the nominee’s email and phone number to dicotaelection@gmail.com.3. Only paid members of DICOTA may be nominated to serve as officers. Nominees must pay memberships dues in full by the September deadline or will be considered ineligible for the nomination.4. The slate of nominees will be available on-line for your review prior to the October 4 election date beginning September 8th. The future of the DICOTA is in the hands of its elected officials; therefore, it is necessary that you exercise your opinion at this time. You may direct all questions regarding qualifications or nomination procedures to the 2014 DICOTA Elections Returning Officers,dicotaelection@gmail.com.
