DICOTA BOARD OF TRUSTEES ELECTION

Dear Tanzanian Diaspora Member: 

The Diaspora Council of Tanzanians in America (DICOTA) is requesting nominations for the election of members of the Board of Trustees. The deadline for all nominations is December 3^rd, 2015.

Members of the Board of Trustees shall be elected for a term of three (3) years. Trustees shall be allowed to stand for election for a maximum of two (2) consecutive three-year terms and may be re-elected after  being away for one (1) term; however, the immediate past Chair, shall serve one (1) additional year.

The qualifications for nomination as member of the Board are:

·       Nominees must be dues-paying members of the DICOTA or register for DICOTA 2016 Convention by the December 3^rd, 2015 nomination deadline.

·       Candidates may nominate themselves or can consent to be nominated by other members of the Tanzanian Diaspora.

The slate of qualified nominees will be available on-line for your review and consideration from December 6^th, 2015 to December 27^th, 2015.

In order to be eligible to vote, membership dues must be paid in full by December 27^th, 2015. Voting ballots will not be issued to inactive members as of December 27^th, 2015.

The election will take place on December 28^th, 2015 via electronic ballot using the Balloteer, a Web based software service for conducting and hosting elections online. Paper ballots will not be available. All votes must be submitted using the Balloteer web-link that will be provided to all dues-paying members.

The future of the DICOTA is in the hands of its elected officials. It is important that you exercise your opinion at this time.
