Ageco Energy Works with Abbott Fund to Install Solar Backup Systems at Singida and Sumbawanga Regional Hospital Laboratory Buildings

Ageco Energy & Construction Ltd has completed the installation of solar hybrid backup systems for Sumbawanga and Singida regional hospitals lab buildings so that these facilities have access to electricity 24 hours a day even during power cut-offs. The backup system takes over automatically when the power from grid is cut-off. Solar power is preferred over the use of diesel generators which are noisy, expensive to operate and harmful to the environment. Instead, solar power is a clean form of energy, affordable (since there is plenty of sunlight) and friendly to the environment. The Sumbawanga solar installation was undertaken in June 2015 and the Singida solar project was done in December 2015.

These solar projects are financed by Abbott Fund - an American Philanthropic foundation which provides a wide range of services supporting the health care system in Tanzania with projects including building of new laboratories at regional level hospitals nationwide to improve diagnostic and monitoring services, providing health care worker trainings in HIV care and treatment, voluntary counseling and much more.

Ageco Energy & Construction Ltd is a local Tanzanian electrical and solar energy contractor providing electrical installation services, as well as solar system installations. Ageco has so far supplied hundreds of small portable solar systems and big solar system installations for off-grid applications across Tanzania. Ageco’s product and services include but not limited to design, installation and commissioning of solar systems for lighting and other domestic appliances, power backup systems, solar street lights, solar water heaters, sola refrigerators and air conditioning systems, solar water pumps for domestic use and irrigation systems and so forth.

In addition to electrical and solar power installation, Ageco has another division that deals with building construction and civil works including water borehole drilling.
