Within the framework of the implementation of UNESCO Malala Fund for Girls Right to Education, UNESCO Dar es Salaam Office recently organised a two days training workshop for two districts - Pangani and Korogwe in Tanga Region. The workshop, which was held in Korogwe, aimed to capacitate trainers and facilitators who will train students how to establish and run Safe Spaces/Youth Clubs in their respective schools. Sixty participants, who included Districts Education Officials the two districts, headmasters and teachers from ten selected secondary schools, five from each district as well as three tutors from Korogwe Teachers College, participated in the workshop.
The workshop was highly successful and was highly appreciated by the trainees who promised to properly and effectively employ the knowledge and skills gained during the training in their work.
One of the participants of the training elaborates on “peer-to-peer methods” to the District Officials, Principals, Headmasters and Teachers from 2 Districts and 20 secondary schools.
