STEMM Brings Hope To Tanzanian Tragedy.

From a horrific scene of 33 dead 7th graders, heroic STEMM team members (stemm.org) rescued 3 critically injured 12 and 13 year old children May 6, 2017 in Tanzania, Africa. In full cooperation with the Tanzanian government and complete agreement of local medical personel our passion to bring these children to Siouxland was fully endorsed. $300,000 is needed to defray the emergency medical evacuation costs and ongoing lifetime medical and educational support of these miraculous survivors and their families.
Please help us keep our promise to these broken children, their parents and the country of Tanzania by helping to bring them to Sioux City, Iowa USA for the life-changing medical care they desparately need.

What Would You Do?

What WOULD you do in the middle of an intense 12 day mission trip, anticipating a a day of peace on safari, you happened upon a scene of horrific tragedy?

What WOULD you do if that tragedy was the maiming, dismembering death of 36 people, including 33 children in a school bus accident?

Seven missionaries from STEMM (see STEMM.org) faced this very scenario in Karatu, Tanzania last weekend.

As the third vehicle on the scene behind a devastating school bus crash that day, they didn’t hesitate before fully entering into the ferry. Our medical personnel (nurse, athletic trainer, and nurse practitioner) coordinated the entire effort, assessing lifeless bodies as they were pulled form the wreckage and valiantly stabilizing the only three severely traumatized survivors. They stayed by their side until they were whisked away to the hospital.

What WOULD you do after pouring all of yourself into those children? Our team’s thought, the very next day, was to find out where the children were taken and to visit them to ensure their care.

Seeing one seriously disfigured, and another yet unconscious, what WOULD you do? After sharing their feelings and experience with the remainder of the team, they committed (led by my wife, Dana) to stop at nothing to ensure world class medical and surgical care for those children.

As a result of nonstop effort by the entire STEMM organization, only one hurdle remains. The government of Tanzania has agreed to wholeheartedly support the transfer of the these children to America.

Mercy Medical Hospital in Sioux City, IA, has graciously committed to providing all necessary medical and surgical care. Families in our caring community have enthusiastically embraced the the idea of housing the Tanzanian children and their caretakers for as long as necessary (during treatment and recovery).

What WOULD you do if all that was required was prayer, financial support and volunteers to ensure the physical, emotional and spiritual restoration of these precious children. Knowing this-What WILL you do?

Please consider making a donation to help the transferring and the ongoing medical and educational care of these beautiful children, Wilson, Sadia, and Doreen.

Thank you and God bless.
