COP'S BOOK CLAIMS DIDDY PAID $1 MILLION FOR TUPAC'S MURDER-The Boombox
15 years after the murder of West Coast rap legend Tupac Shakur, former LAPD Homicide Detective Greg Kading has offered the LA Weekly an advance glimpse at the pages of his self-published book 'Murder Rap,' which reveals several shocking developments about the unsolved case.
In the book, which is scheduled to hit shelves tomorrow (Oct. 4), Kading claims that the LAPD is sitting on "extensive tapes and documents containing confessions from key players behind the alleged assassinations of Shakur and [Biggie] Smalls," including testimony from two credible informants tied closely to both murders.Kading claims he was unexpectedly pulled from the investigation shortly before he closed the case, having received testimony which pinned Tupac's murder on Sean "Puffy" Combs, now known as Diddy, as well as information connecting Suge Knight to the murder of Brooklyn rapper Biggie Smalls. The case was subsequently shut down completely. While a spokesman for the LAPD told the LA Weekly that the case is still ongoing, very few details of Kading's investigation had previously come to light. Luckily, the former Homicide Detective copied all of his reports and taped confessions before leaving the department. In a taped confession, which the Weekly has reviewed, Duane "Keffe D" Keith Davis, a shot caller for the Southside Crips, testified on Dec. 18, 2008, that he was offered $1 million to kill Tupac and Death Row CEO Suge Knight."[Combs] took me downstairs and he's like, 'Man, I want to get rid of them dudes.' ... I was like, 'We'll wipe their ass out, quick. It's nothing.' ... We wanted a million," Keffe D said, according to the Weekly.Kading also took a confession from the mother of one of Knight's children, referred to in 'Money Rap' as "Theresa Swann," who revealed that Knight had given her cash to deliver to his associate, and fellow Piru Blood gang member, Wardell "Poochie" Fouse, to kill Biggie.Diddy responded to Kading's allegations via email, telling the Weekly "This story is pure fiction and completely ridiculous."Suge Knight, who was shot in the head in the 1996 Las Vegas shooting that claimed 'Pac's life, and has been accused by Kading of setting up Biggie's retaliatory murder, was not available for comment.
