Embassy of Tanzania - Washington DC NGOs Round Table

H.E. Mwanaidi Sinare Maajar, Ambassador of the United Republic of Tanzania is inviting Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) based in The United States of America for a Round-Table Discussion. This one day event, aims at developing relations between the Embassy and NGOs, forming partnerships as well as identifying areas of collaboration amongst NGOs to better serve the people of Tanzania.

The program for the event will start at 9.00 AM and will be published on our website nearer the event. 

PRESENTATIONS:

Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation: Will present on the Ministry's role in facilitating NGO activity in Tanzania, what to consider before forming a partnership to do community work in Tanzania and how to avoid the pitfalls. 

Planning Commission: Will present a synopsis of Tanzania's 5 years Development Plan to underscore the public partnership participation and Government's strategies on poverty alleviation and where NGOs can fit in this process.

Tanzania Revenue Authority: Will present about Tax issues, including exemptions and compliance for NGOs working in Tanzania.

Tanzania Immigration Department: Will present on matters related to visa and Residence Permits for NGOs expatriate staff and Volunteers working in Tanzania.

Register of NGOs: Registration of NGOs and Compliance.

Ministry of Health: Will discuss compliance requirements for Doctors and nurses who do volunteer work in Tanzania.
