Mariam Hussein (Mama
Sameera) was recently diagnosed with Gastrointestinal Stromal Tumors (GIST).
She will need to undergo treatment for about three to six months before having
surgery to remove the tumors.
Her treatment requires taking GLEEVEC, a medicine which costs 30,0000 after her insurance coverage. The co-pay for the surgery is expected to be more expensive than the medication. She will also need monetary support post-surgery until she is able to work again.
For those who don’t know Mariam, she is a loving and caring single mother who always have been an active member of the Community, giving selflessly and always there helping friends and strangers as well.
She works long hours to make ends meet and supports her daughter who is in Second year of college, she would love to attend her Daughter’s graduation day and when the day come, be there for her wedding Day (God Willing).
