The news about Tucson shooting that tragically killed six peoples and critically wounded U.S congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords and 12 others was terrified. As I watched the events of the tragedy unfold over the next few days, I became more and more admirer of the power of diversity and the greatness of America . One might ask, is Matope crazy?, how could he make such a connection between the shooting and diversity? That’s quite legitimate and I get it.
Let’s don’t forget that America was created and carried over to the top by foreigners, from the founding fathers, who were British citizens, African Americans who came to this country as slaves and played a major role in shaping the civil and legal structure of country, Irish Americans who made majority of presidents and government leaders, Jewish Americans, from Albert Einstein to Mark Zuckerberg (founder of the Facebook) and many other scientists whose innovations has put America too far ahead in many fronts, and the list goes on and on. America has been great by far because of its long tradition of embracing diversity, and that is the base of my observation of the last Saturday shooting in the town of Tucson , Arizona .
One of the victims who were killed in last week shooting was U.S. District Judge John Roll. The 63-year-old CATHOLIC, came from the Sunday mass and had just stopped by to see his friend Rep .Gabrielle Giffords, 40 years old JEWISH American. Immediately after the shooting, Congresswoman Giffords, who was shot at point blank in the head, life was saved by her intern, 20-year-old Daniel Hernandez, MEXICAN American who rushed over to her, and applied pressure to her wound and prevented her from excessive bleeding. Upon reaching the hospital congresswoman’s life was farther saved by the combat trauma surgeon, chief trauma surgeon at the University of Arizona Medical School, 49 year old Dr Peter Rhee, KOREAN American, who operated on her at the University Medical Center . Last but not least, all the victims ware eulogized, and the community of Tucson was uplifted in the Halls of University of Arizona by AFRICAN AMERICAN guy, born by an ISLAM father from KENYA , grew up in INDONESIA and HAWAII , President of United States, Mr. Barack Obama.
So do you see the connection or still sound crazy ? Give me your take.

Mzee topes your super intelligent ,your great thinker ,what in the hell did you come up with that thinking .I don't mean to praise you ,but my brother this is a big deal ,your exceptional among us.keep doing the great work.
this is brilliant writing ,i'm a english proffesor here at Chicago ,i'm going to use this article in my class ,i will ask for your permision.your an emaginable thinker and giant writer. But ,i know you did't have space to write everything ,it would have been great if you wrote more about African American contributions to this great society.
Good Reasoning;good job!
What a writer ,so smooth ,flowing well, concrete massage, this article or commentary is the one can florish in any western country and prevail. When i started reading your commentary ,i thought your crazy ,but your bottom line made me thing your extraordinary wise individual,no one has ever take the Arizona tragedy and put it in a positive way except you, even these Americans with PhDs still connect it with political discourse,Sarah Palin ,Mental illness etc.But you African brother made it in a way as sweet as posible ,Your article can unite all Americans ,you just don't have a big loud speakers.excellent job.
Good Reasoning, good job Mr Matope your article can unite all AMERICANS I Wanna make big loud speaker for this good job Mr Matope
When I was starting to read your article, I didn’t know what point are you trying to make and I decided to read it because I know you but if it was written by any person unknown to me, really I could never read it, ningesema upuuzi, but your conclusion is fantastic, you have thought us a lesson and we should learn to analyze issues in wider perspective.
This article is good ,perfect english ,but i will say something you touch but did't finish.I see why you write this article on Martin Luther King day,Arizona is the one of racist state, unti immagrantstate.Arizona refused to aknowledge MLK day until they were pressured economically by govt and NBA and NFl,Arizona last year passed controvisial law that require all immagrant to carry papers with them all the time ,or can be arrested.John Mccain senetor from Arizona had to pologize when running for president because of his vote agaist MLK day.Arizona local house passed the law that will prohibit President Obama to run put his nome on the ballot until he presented his birth certificate to the electoral board. So i read your mind ,I'm white American friend of mine forwad this article to me ,and i can see why you pointed out the gratness of diversity especially in the racist state like Arizona.Good line of thinking bro.
Jamaa ameeleza mchanganyiko wa mataifa ya hapa US. Amepambanua tofauti za asili za utaifa wetu. Zingatia: Devided we fall but United we stand. Hotuba ya Rais Obama imemaliza yote. Hatuwezi kuhubiri tofauti na kujivunia. Marekani sasa hivi tunahubiri umoja, mshikamano, upendo na kuondoa tofauti. hapa tutafika na watoto wetu wataishi vizuri. Lakini tukianza ku-point oh sijui dokta mchina, sijui jamaa mmexico hapo sio mwana.
Speaking of Diversity, Americans are not infallible. However, they have made huge progress compared to other developed countries. Having said that, I concur with you and you're not insane. I like the way you were able to provide a quick introduction of USA history and connect the dots between diversity and the devastating event that occured in Tuscon. Most of all, your introduction is helpful to anyone that is unfamiliar with USA history as many people do not realize what a major role immigration has played in the forming of this country.
