The Embassy of the United Republic of Tanzania in the United States of America and The Diaspora Council of Tanzanians in America (DICOTA) are together, organizing events to mark 50 years of Tanzania’s independence. His Excellency Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete, the President of the United Republic of Tanzania has been invited to be the Guest of Honor.
The highlight of the cerebrations will be the 3rd DICOTA’s Convention and Uhuru Gala Dinner. The theme of the convention is “Tanzanians in the Diaspora after 50 years of independence”. Tanzanians in the diaspora are most welcome. Other attendees will include individuals with ties to or interest in Tanzania, international organizations, government and business leaders from Tanzania and United States, NGOs and Civil Society Organizations.
