Julius Nyerere Day

Dear Friends!

Please forgive me for this late summoning of friends and devotees of Julius Kambarage Nyerere to plan this year's Annual Commemoration. If time and resources prevail, we can still put together a program worthy of Mwalimu, our hero and teacher. At this point, only a continuous theme of fighting poverty, ignorance and disease is what we have. There has been no confirmation on location and program content or entertainment. With our ability and love for Mwalimu, we can compete with earlier programs.

We ask that we have a telephone conference this Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday. I ask only for times you have available and working phone numbers. Everyone on this list will be provided regular updates on the communications and developing plans. We ask you to be prepared with thoughts or ideas about location, program content, entertainment. Please know that the Julius K. Nyerere Commemoration has no funds, so our thinking must take this into account.

The best number to reach me on is 202.388.1111, and my cell is 202.380.8929. The sooner you respond, the better! TIme is of the essence; the dates we generally schedule the event is between the14th and 24th of October, or any date close.

Please respond to me directly at your earliest but in time to alert all interested parties.

Warm regards,
Rick Tingling-Clemmons

I thought Tanzania forgot about him long time him. His policies are gone and we are not following a fisadi and capitalist system. Good idea on your proposal but it makes no sense at all. What is happening in Bongo is contrary to what Mwalimu advocated. Have you been there?

we are 'now' following a fisadi and capitalist system.

R.I.P. JKN,I am sure you are now in heaven for freeing millions of souls from opression, looking down watching us with pity, saying i hope one day they will wake up and say enough.!!wake up& go back to the righteous path,it is us who know better!!!Let us refuse to be bought for giving up our dignity. We owe to our fore fathers, their sweat&blood should not go in vein. Stand young generation, stop using drugs/selling thinkin its a cool thing. Rather, seek education, fight poverty, diseases, ignorance our 3 main challenges. We really miss u Mwalimu.
