Six Killed in Kasese Attack

Six people have been killed in Kasese district following an attack. The incident happened on Saturday evening at 4:00pm. According to the Nisima Rwamijuma, the Rwenzori region Spokesperson, the unknown men attacked KCCL police post 10 kilometers from Kasese and killed a policeman after they disarmed him.

The attackers then proceeded to Bigando village and attacked a UPDF Corporal Grace Namanya.

They locked Namanya and his three children in a house and burnt them to death. The attackers then went on a rampage and killed two people one of them identified as Muhindo. The other person couldn’t be identified.

According to Rwamijuma, he attributed the attacks to the tribal conflicts between the Bamba and the Bakonzo.

The attack in Kasese was carried out simultaneously with one in Bundibugyo town, where gunshots were started at 4:00pm, when unknown people attacked the town and started shooting indiscriminately.

According to Nisiima, unknown men attacked UBC radio station in Bundibugyo town accusing the management of broadcasting programms of the Bamba. The group attacked the radio station and disarmed the police officer on.
