CALL FOR APPLICATION
Background:
This training is proposed within the framework of the project “Skills for the creative Industry Support Services”.  The project aims to increase the growth potential of Tanzanian creative industries and to strengthen the Tanzanian cultural sector by building capacity in areas of administration and technical skills needed to support artists in their work.  It is also looking to increase employability and enhance marketable skills of these individuals which will help the creative industry at large.
TRAINING 8: Introduction to lighting design
The training is designed for individuals who support the creative industry. This training will be facilitated by Jean- Pierre Nepost: In 1983, while still a student, Jean Pierre met Marie - Line Ampigny, director and founder of the "Theatre de l'Air" who signed him up for lighting design and technical production. Since 1998, he has gained experience working with several Parisian theatres perfecting his craft. In 1992, he went back to the Theatre de l'Air now the Theatre de l'Air Nouveau (T.A.N.). After seven year with T.A.N where he was given free reign to experiment and the receive further training at the Centre for Professional training in Bagnolet, he left T.A.N as a freelance lighting designer for various dance and theatre groups, and especially supporting young artists from the French West Indies. In addition to this, he is also the lighting technician for the Scene National des Gémeaux in Seaux, Paris. He has also participated in several tours across Europe and Africa. In 2013, he designed the lights for the franco-Kenyan theatre production:"Elements", directed and written by the accomplished John SIBI- OKUMU.
The play will be presented in Dar Es Salam on the 5th of September and in Arusha on the 7th of September.
