Meet Rahel Mwitula-Williams Entrepreneurer a woman behind "MY ILAVA" based in Chicago IL.
WHO IS RAHEL MWITULA-WILLIAMS?
Rahel Mwitula-Williams is a social entrepreneur with a
love for fashion. She was born and raised in Tanzania, East Africa. She migrated
to United States with her family when she was 12 years old. She obtained her Bachelor
of Science degree in Psychology from Loyola University and her Masters Of
Science degree in International Public Service from DePaul University In
Chicago. While at DePaul Rahel wrote a thesis on “Grassroots Initiatives: Women
entrepreneurs as key in enhancing women’s development-A case study of Kibera
Paper Project. As a Tanzanian-American, she loves her culture and everything
that it has to offer. She incorporates her culture in her everyday living.
While popular culture may see African influence as a trend, for Rahel it’s a lifestyle
and not a choice.
Her Vision for ILAVA is beyond fashion. ILAVA is a way of
life. Most recently ILAVA launch its nonprofit initiate ILAVA GIVESBACK with
mission empower and provide academic, economic and social resources to women
and children in targeted African’s countries.
Vision: To equip the marginalized population in the
community with the resources that will allow them to combat extreme poverty.
Ending the cycle of extreme poverty from one generation to next...
