WORKOUT MOTIVATION: HOW TO BUILD STRONG AND LEAN LEGS

Strong, sexy legs represent so many attributes – strength, power, dominance, control; the list could go on and on. Strong legs also equal a strong core and great stability and balance. Many gym rats and fad followers focus strictly on six-pack abs or hard-core cardio sessions while overlooking how phenomenal a leg workout can be. Building strong legs will also build a strong back and core, a stable body and a focused mind. Form is more than important when performing ANY exercise, but, when done correctly, a good leg workout has the potential to strengthen and transform your whole body.

Try to focusing more on glutes and hamstrings and the other geared towards quads and inner thighs –  incorporate calves into both routines.  This isolates the large muscles allowing them to get maximal training. For someone who is quad dominant, the split routine is the best way to build glutes and hamstrings; and vise-versa.  This type of regimen would also be ideal for those simply trying to build lean mass and strength.

Nutrition and hydration are always KEY in getting the most from our workouts, but when working a routine it’s important to pay special attention to carbohydrate intake. Make sure to fuel and re-fuel with carbs. Giving your body carbs prior to a hard-core workout gives it something to burn off and use for fuel. Re-fueling with carbs helps to replenish what was depleted while training.
