DICOTA SADDENED BY THE EARTHQUAKE IN TANZANIA

DICOTA Saddened by the Earthquake in Tanzania
September 10, 2016

On behalf of the Diaspora Council of Tanzanians in America (DICOTA), I wish to express our deep sadness on the devastation caused by the 5.7 magnitude earthquake that struck the Great Lakes region of Tanzania, with Bukoba being the worst-hit city.

We are sending our condolences to family members who have lost loved ones, a speedy recovery to those injured, and best wishes to the region and country’s rebuilding efforts.
We encourage all members and friends of the Tanzania Diaspora community to join relief efforts in whatever capacity that you can. You are welcome to visit our website where you can find contact information for the various Tanzanian Associations across the U.S. (www.dicotaus.org). Also check the Embassy’s website for associations’ contact information.

Sincerely yours,

Dr. Ndaga Mwakabuta,
President
