CORNELL UNIVERSITY FELLOWSHIPS
NEW STUDENT FELLOWSHIP
New student’s fellowship is one of many fellowships set up by the Cornell University to help new applicants on tuition, stipend and individual health insurance. The Cornell University Fellowships are awarded at the time of admission.
How to apply:
- Student must be applying to Cornell University.
- Prospective students apply for fellowships in support of diversity through the admissions application.
- To be considered, applicants must respond “yes” to the question on the admissions application asking if they wish to be considered for university assistantships and fellowships, including diversity fellowships. Applicants must also submit a supplemental essay that addresses how the above criteria apply.
- The Director of Graduate Studies for the graduate field to which the applicant is applying must submit a nomination to the Graduate School for consideration by the Associate Dean for Inclusion & Student Engagement and the Dean of the Graduate School.

BROOKE OWENS FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM
Internship Opportunity for Women in Aerospace/Aviation
Brooke Owens Fellows are women currently seeking the equivalent of an undergraduate degree - through a college, university, or community college – in any field who intend to pursue a full-time career in the aviation or aerospace industry. Graduating seniors are eligible to apply.
Women of all ages, ethnicities, and socioeconomic backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
The Brooke Owens Fellowship Program is a highly competitive, paid internship and mentorship program designed to honor the memory of beloved space industry pioneer and accomplished pilot, Brooke Owens, by inspiring and training exceptional undergraduate women seeking a career in aviation or space exploration.
- Candidates complete only a single application in order to be considered for positions at all of the Host Institutions, although interview questions will vary depending on the applicant and the potential host matches.
- In addition to standard internship application material (transcript, résumé, letters of recommendation), applicants submit at least one 'multimedia essay' addressing one of a few questions posed within our application. This multimedia essay could take any of a wide variety of forms: a video of a rocket motor test, a recording of an original song or poem, a white paper on a matter of aerospace policy, or whatever else each applicant thinks will best captures her personality, talents, and ambitions. Our Selection Committee recognizes that students from different demographics show their talents in different ways, so this is really each applicant's opportunity to show off her proudest accomplishments and her most valued self.
- All completed applications are reviewed by the Brooke Owens Fellowship Selection Committee, with the most highly qualified candidates being selected for telephone interviews with Selection Committee members.

The Joint Japan/World Bank Graduate Scholarship Program (JJ/WBGSP) is open to women and men from developing countries with relevant professional experience and a history of supporting their countries’ development efforts who are applying to a master degree program in a development-related topic.
Who is Eligible to Apply?
- Not hold dual citizenship of a developed country;
- Be in good health;
- Hold a Bachelor (or equivalent) degree earned at least 3 years prior to the Application Deadline date;

The Fulbright Foreign Student Program is the most sought ought scholarship program with Africa. Currently, the priority is given to Master’s applicants over Ph.D and recipients will be fully funded for a duration of two years. Preference is also given to those with no or less US experience.
Eligibility Requirements
- Applicants must be citizens of Tanzania or permanent residents qualified to hold a valid passport issued by Tanzania.
- Applicants must have a record of outstanding academic achievement and preparation in their chosen field of study. They must show high motivation and serious commitment to completing the program and to returning home.
- Applicant must have at least the equivalent of four (4) years of university study or the equivalent of a U.S. bachelor’s degree.
- Applicants who wish to pursue study in a field other than their current field of study must demonstrate adequate background in that field.
- Applicant must meet the minimum scores on required standardized tests.
- Applicants must be affiliated with or committed to working at an academic institution or public or private institutions in Tanzania upon return, and should have the endorsement of their home institution.
- Applicants should have a high motivation and a serious commitment to completing the program as scheduled and to returning home.
- Applicants with no extensive or recent U.S. experience will be given preference.
- Applicants must have a sufficiently high level of English proficiency to enable them to complete a full-time program of graduate study in the United States.
- Employees staff (LES) employed by the State Department/United States Agency for International Development (USAID) are ineligible for grants during the period of their employment and for one year following the termination of employment.
