Comoro retired president Ahmed Abdallah Sambi
Former Comoro President Ahmed Abdallah Sambi has urged Africans to stop feeling marginalized because the continent has made big advancements in technology.
Mr Sambi, who visited the 37th Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair (DITF) in the city also urged Africans to work together and exchange experiences in technology to hasten the continent’s development process.
He said such exchanging and sharing of technology experiences will help the continent advance in various sectors, especially agriculture.
Speaking at the Vocational Education Training Authority (VETA) pavilion, Mr Sambi promised to link Tanzanian business people with their counterparts in Comoro.
“This is the time for Africans to stop feeling marginalised; from what I have seen here today (yesterday), this shows we have made major advancement in technology something that we should be proud of,” Mr Sambi noted.
He said the DITF had impressed him so much compared to other trade fairs that he has visited in other countries. When he visited an incubator for babies born prematurely and invented by experts from VETA, Mr Sambi stated the incubator was better than those invented in the western countries.
He said the incubator invented by experts from VETA has the capacity to adjust to the African environment. The incubator can detect when the baby is not feeling well or if he/she has urinated.
The former president advised African countries to use the incubators to promote technologies from Africa, promising to link the experts with those in his country.
