Program Coordinator -CARE Canada
CARE Canada is currently seeking a dynamic health and development professional for the position of Program Coordinator. Based in Tabora, Tanzania this position is an opportunity to lead a complex regional Muskoka Initiative-funded (Government of Canada) MNCH program in partnership with CARE International in Tanzania and the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare in Tanzania.
Improving Maternal and Reproductive Health (IMRH) is a 3 year program initiative funded by CIDA (Canadian International Development Agency) through the Muskoka Initiative and is being executed by CARE Canada through CARE Tanzania. The program aims to improve maternal and reproductive health of women and adolescent girls of reproductive age in six districts of Tabora region through increasing utilization of maternal and reproductive health services by women and youth and improving quality of maternal and reproductive health services by training health workers, and strengthening health service management and accountability.
The Program Coordinator (PC) will be responsible for the implementation of program activities in target districts. S/he will work closely with stakeholders at the district and community level and will be directly responsible for supervision, monitoring and coordination of partners in the implementation of activities to ensure high technical quality of project implementation and ongoing innovation.
Based on a thorough understanding of target communities, risk factors and social norms contexts, s/he works with CARE Canada, CARE US, program staff and partners to design trainings, establish supportive community-based activities, and support the management and accountability of regional and district health councils. S/he will also provide technical assistance to project and partners’ staff in ensuring program activities is carried out to the highest quality, in line with the program objectives and the detailed implementation plan.
