ANNOUNCING A NEW BOOK! TANZANIA’S INDUSTRIAL JOURNEY 2016-2056

DICOTA is delighted to announce the publication of Ali Mufuruki's et al: Tanzania’s Industrialisation Journey, 2016 - 2056. From an Agrarian to a Modern Industrialised State in Forty Years.

The book is now available for free on the DICOTA website. Mr. Ali Mufuruki, Chairman of the Chief Executive Officers round table (CEOrt), addresses how Tanzania has so far not tangibly benefited from the diaspora investments and, explains the need to engage the diaspora in the development process. “If well managed, the diaspora can have positive contribution to economic transformation in terms of skills and knowledge transfer, networks, entrepreneurial capacity and remittances. Tanzanians living abroad should be encouraged to invest back home, particularly in entities and projects that support industrialisation, education and technology.”
Other chapters highlight:

  • The importance of ensuring prioritization, planning and execution.
  • Attracting the right type of foreign direct investment to achieve economic development goals.
  • Access to affordable and reliable energy as the key to unlocking Tanzania’s industrialisation potential.
  • Skills development, capacity building and technology transfer.

Mr. Mufuruki is a strong proponent and supporter of the Tanzania diaspora and was a featured speaker at the 2016  DICOTA Convention held in Dallas, Texas. Mr. Mufuruki has graciously made the book available for free to read and download on the DICOTA website.
