The Connecticut Department of Health has issued a recall for Jamaican curry powder, produced by Oriental Packing Company.
The recall issued in December 2016 was triggered by the presence of lead in three of the company’s products.
The affected brands are Oriental Hot curry powder, OCHO-RIOS Jamaican nice mild and spicy hot curry powder and OCHO-RIOS mild curry powder.
The Connecticut Department of Health says lead is unsafe to ingest and all use of these products should cease immediately.
It says the curry powders were sold in retail stores in Florida and Jamaica.
The recall was the second in 2016 for the Oriental Packing Company.
