'It was just two big old divas': Nicki Minaj puts feud with Mariah Carey behind her and admits she hopes American Idol fans won't think she's a 'crazy psycho'

It's over: Nicki Minaj taped an interview with Ellen DeGeneres scheduled to air on the comedienne's talk show on Tuesday, and opened up about her feud with Mariah Carey

The Starships rapper talked to the comedienne about adjusting to her new role on the television singing competition opposite Mariah, Keith Urban and Randy Jackson - and the blazing row that erupted between the women last year in North Carolina. 

'I don’t know. It was just two big old divas, I guess,' Nicki told Ellen.

The rapper recounted the feud, recalling how she was hearing rumours about Mariah not wanting her on the panel and carried that with her when filming began. 

'I was just like sitting there. And I guess before I went in there I heard all the stuff that was being said but I didn’t believe it. I heard them saying Mariah doesn’t want you on the panel but I was like, no. I am friends with Mariah,' she said.
